Candidate will be working at an Army Base at the following address:
The Allentown ad dress is the closest Honeywell office, we originally used it as a location to have face to face interviews.
The actual site location is the Tobyhanna Army Depot which is located at 11 Hap Arnold Blvd, Tobyhanna PA. 18466.
CANDIDATES WILL BE WORKING ON AN ARMY BASE. THEY WILL BE DRIVING TO THE DIFFERENT SITES ON THE BASE AND WILL BE REIMBURSED FOR MILEAGE
Health Safety Environmental Specialist
*The HSE Specialist will act as the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) responsible to implement and maintain effective health, safety, and environmental programs.
*The position will support subcontractors working at the site to comply with regulatory, company and customer requirements.
*A minimum of 5 years of construction industry safety experience or three (3) years if he/she poss esses a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or safety and health degree.
*The SSHO, as a minimum, must have completed the 30 hour OSHA Construction course or as an equivalent 30 hours of formal construction safety and health training covering the subjects of the OSHA 30-hour course with a competent person status for at least the following areas of competency:
*Excavation, Scaffolding, Fall protection, Hazardous energy, Confined space, health and hazard recognition, evaluation and control of chemical, physical and biological agents, cranes and hoisting, and personal protective equipment.
*Training must be verifiable.
*Experience with USACE EM 385-1-1.
*Three (3) years experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook in a business environment.
*Must have a valid US driver license.
CRITICAL DUTIES OF THE JOB ARE:
*Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log.
*Maintain the OSHA FORM 300 FOR PRIME AND SUB-CONTRACTORS.
*Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site.
*Implement and enforce accepted APPS and AHAs.
*Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system that monitors deficiencies until resolution.
*Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety, health and environmental requirements.
*Support the HSE Team Room and be able to use Sharepoint tools, such as, safety observations, tracking of data, etc.
*Outlines and implements training programs about employee safety procedures and accident protection and prevention.
*Responsibilities also include developing and distributing educational materials, inspecting company facilities, and recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.
*May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
*Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
*Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks related to the position..
*Works under minimal supervision.
*A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
*Reports to Honeywell PM.
