Responsible for bed assignment for admission of patients in assigned area. Maintains up to date medical records and order entry on all patients in the unit. Performs clerical and receptionist duties. Performs other patient comfort duties needed to maintain the flow of patient care within the system. Is responsible for carrying out the mission, vision, values and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare.

Sensory requirements include near acuity (see clearly 20 inches or less). Should also have good hearing acuity (ability to distinguish sounds or tones). Subject to sufficient noise to cause distraction. Requires moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 pounds). Potential hazards from repetitive movements. Prolonged standing and walking required. Prolonged sitting. Occasional lifts equipment/supplies.

Exposed to hot and noisy equipment. Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness). Experiences extreme fluctuations on workloads. Handles absentee replacement on short notice. Handles multiple job duties at one time. May be exposed to biohazardous, radioactive substances. May be exposed to/occasionally exposed to patient elements. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Occasionally exposed to radiation hazards. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours. Subject to many interruptions. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
