Aon Is Looking For A Health and Benefits Consultant

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Health and Benefits business group within Aon Hewitt, in New York, NY.


Job Responsibilities:

* Preparing quarterly experience reviews and renewal underwriting analyses

* Assist in strategy development and costing of scenarios related to strategy discussions

* Assist in benchmarking discussions with clients, including strategy evolution as a result of benchmarking data

* Set, and where appropriate review, health care budget rate for self-insured plans; present results to client teams and clients

* Review employee contribution rate development; present results to client

* Perform IBNP reserve development

* Perform Health Care Reform valuation

* Develop models to evaluate cost-saving scenarios

* Value retiree plans for purposes of complying with Medicare Part D regulations

* Perform FAS 106 assumption development

* Seek and provide peer review to ensure high quality client deliverables

* Drafting reports and correspondence;

* Promoting good public relations by developing strong working relationships with clients, and insurance company representatives; and

* Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of group systems, products and technology, and have a thorough understanding of how these relate to group insurance consulting.

* Commitment to professional development and working towards the successful completion of the Fellowship of Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation

* Mentor and delegate work to other actuarial students as appropriate

* Seek and provide peer review to ensure high quality client deliverables

* Solicit actuarial review where appropriate

* Develop general consulting skills, knowledge, and exposure


You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

Required Experience:

* Candidate should have at least 4+ exams completed. Near ASA, ASA/FSA designations a plus

* 3-7 years healthcare industry experience in a Human Resources Consulting firm, Outsourcing firm, Broker or Health Insurance Carrier

* A superior ability in mathematics and financial analysis, and demonstrated experience using financial spreadsheet programs

* Good communication skills, both written and oral. Must be a highly motivated, customer service and team oriented individual

* Ability to work under competing deadlines

* Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) is required

* University or college degree (ie. Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics or Business) is preferred


* Bachelor s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.
