span Modis has an immediate contract to hire opening for a HelpDesk/Desktop Support Technician with our client in the St. Louis, MO area. We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide analytical and technical support in the administration of PCs and Macs. br   br Responsibilities br • Develops, implements, installs, monitors, and evaluates existing and/or new operating systems ensuring that system applications meet the needs of users and staff. br • Reviews, tests, evaluates, and modifies vendor-supplied operating systems and software for compliance to departmental needs and requirements; updates and troubleshoots operating systems and software as needed. br • Installs, tests, diagnoses, and maintains operating system application system utility programs and procedures/scripts, as required. br • Troubleshoots and refines networking system software as it affects operating system performance. br • Maintains daily log of problems and reasons for operation malfunctions. br   br Qualifications br • Bachelor’s Degree preferred br • Installs and supports research specific hardware and software and provides technical guidance and specifications for integration or support of specialized computer and IT systems for supporting researchers. br • Provide support and expertise for Apple Macintosh based hardware and software for PCF supported customers. br • Proficient in Apple OSX operating systems between 10.5 and 10.9 br • Manage PCF supported devices using software such as Microsoft SCCM, SCEP, HP Web Jet Admin, and other various diagnostic tools. br • Provide vendor direct hardware support by becoming Dell TechDirect and Apple ACMT certified for hardware and software diagnostics and parts replacement. br • Provides information to users, staff, and other information technology personnel regarding the technical and procedural aspects of information technology systems and programs. br • Assists with operating system and application administration tasks as needed. br   br Modis br Modis is one of the most highly respected information technology staffing and solutions firms in the world.
