VHB is expanding the Florida Transportation team and is seeking a Highway Design Engineer/Project Manager to work in our Orlando office. This person will work within a team of professionals to support and help grow our roadway/highway design and roadway/highway planning projects. The successful candidate will have 15+ years of professional experience and possess strong client relationship with FDOT District staff. Relationships in FDOT Districts 1, 3, 5, and 7 is a plus.
Responsibilities: Work within a team of professionals to support and manage roadway and highway design projects Design transportation improvements for roadway infrastructure projects Client management and ability to successfully market our services and win projects
Skills and Abilities: Strong civil engineering background Strong FDOT Roadway Design background Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Self-motivated Attention to detail Ability to think critically Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Excel in working in a team environment
Qualifications: BS in Civil Engineering Professional Engineer licensure in Florida 15+ years of roadway design experience Experience working on FDOT contracts and with local governments Strong CAD skills (Civil 3D, MicroStation, GeoPak) required Proficient in horizontal and vertical roadway layout and grading Basic understanding of all elements associated with roadway design
