The Hotel Ambassador is responsible for providing quality guest services by providing a positive first to last impression to guests as they arrive and leave the hotel. When servicing guests, the Hotel Ambassador is responsible for being professional, friendly, and helpful, using the "Five Hospitality Standards" of eye contact, a smile, speak first, engage in polite conversation, and use the guest's surname. What you get to do: The Hotel Ambassador is responsible for handling the overall guest experience. This includes but is not limited to: registration and check-out, PBX operations, bell and valet services, maintain the cleanliness and appearance of common areas in the hotel, and provide guests with information and support in a professional and gracious manner. Daily Duties, but not limited to: * Review arrivals noting special requests, blocking rooms upon need. * Conduct pre-assignment of all hotel rooms daily, which includes VIPS, repeat guest, all packages, and any special requests. * Greet all guests upon arrival with undivided attention and open all doors to hotel, rooms and vehicles whenever possible. * Check hotel guests in and out in a confident, professional and friendly manner using the provided computer equipment and software. * Assist guests with luggage to their rooms in a timely manner after checking the guests in and out. * Promote all hotel functions, facilities and amenities to registered guests and to potential clients on hotel tours and fam trip events. * Inform guests of the following while assisting them to their room: restaurant hours of operation (if available), offer ice, turndown service, events of the evening; emergency procedures, equipment and exit paths. * Once in the guest's room, provide the following information, basic telephone instructions; television channels and pay per view movie instructions, heating and air conditioning instructions, laundry and dry cleaning procedures, proper security of locking the door and key use, explain the procedures for charging honor bar items to the room. * Park guest's vehicle quickly while driving attentive and safely. * Follow established policies for lost and found, hotel keys, guest vehicles, credit control, package or fax delivery/receiving and other hotel property. * Accurately post and settle charges to guest account for mini bar, parking, laundry, etc. * Open, secure, and balance out daily shift bank which involves counting and verifying cash, check, and credit card transactions occurring while on duty. * Monitor room availability and selling status throughout the day. * Maintain follow up log for communication between Hotel Hosts and other operating departments. * Assist in performing administrative duties as necessary. * Adapt to constantly changing situations and personalities of guests, ensuring quality service to all guests. Maintain decorum in stressful situations. Project warmth, care and concern for all guests along with proper etiquette. * Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Candidate must have a valid Driver's License and a good driving history. The ability to drive a manual transmission is required. Prior experience preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors in English. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practice problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
