The Housekeeping Supervisor monitors and inspects the Room Attendants cleaning. He or she may also assist in scheduling, training, and cleaning rooms when necessary.Responsibilities: Ensures that rooms are turned efficiently and in accordance with hotel cleanliness standards. Inspects Room Attendants rooms daily and checks stay over rooms at random. Assists the Housekeeping Manager in training and developing the Room Attendants. Opens and closes the department as needed. Rushes vacant rooms so that Host Services can pre-register guests and also rushes early check- in rooms. Assigns Evening Service assignments each evening. Logs items into the Lost and Found and answers inquiries to maintain controls. Assists in cleaning rooms, the public area, and working in the laundry department when necessary. Reports any discrepancy in room status immediately to Manager. Inspects maintenance rooms before released for sale. Controls guest inventory and provides special requests to guests. Ensures that room attendants have all the supplies they need to carry out their functions. Reports any room unable to be serviced (Do not Disturb) to manager. Assists with key control. Must be willing to be hands on and able to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Understands and implements hotels recycling programs, and green cleaning initiatives. Follow hotel and departmental policies and procedures. Assists with the department annual reviews. Responsible for keeping inventories and labor within budget. Assist with payroll / schedules. Follow hotel and departmental policies and procedures. Performs related duties as assigned.
