JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES

The Housing Service Center Dispatcher monitors security software, DSX, and will be responsible for contacting proper personnel when problems are found. This position will act as central communications hub for University Housing; receive and act on communications from University Housing employees; and contact appropriate emergency personnel when required.

The Housing Service Center Dispatcher will answer all telephone calls and transfer the calls to appropriate personnel. This position will arrive to all scheduled shifts on time; notify supervisor ahead of time if unable to work a scheduled shift; and will be willing to work with the supervisor to accommodate scheduling needs. This position will perform other miscellaneous job related duties as required.

* Must be 18 years of age or older

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Currently in Work Study Program

* Clerical or administrative skills

* Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel

* Basic knowledge and experience with Google Email (gmail)

* Experience with DSX

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

* Good customer service skills

* Clear communication skills in person, via telephone, and radio

* Ability to follow procedures set by the department
