This position requires an experienced HR Business Partner to manage and support a high profile client group who are key to the strategic repositioning CS in the longer term. This role offers the opportunity to work in a standalone position, overseeing a diverse global client group to provide Human Capital support, both at a strategic and operational level. In partnership with the Head of HR UK/SRU the HRBP will work with senior leaders in the continued development of a Human Capital strategy aligned to the goal of reducing assets within the SRU. This position is based in New York and will report to Head of HR UK/SRU.

* Provide HR advisory services and support to an individual client group on all HR related processes including employee relations, development, retention, performance management, promotions and compensation

* Support, coach and advise managers in the resolution of critical HR cases disciplinary, performance management, employee grievances/complaints. To lead and/or support investigations and facilitate mitigation, working closely with ER/Legal/Line Management as required

* Innovative in helping clients manage their change agenda to meet future business goals. Challenges the status quo; creates new ideas; supports change and exhibits strategic agility.

* Anticipate critical HR related problems and issues and apply expert knowledge of HR programs, policies and practices to resolution

* Understand human capital requirements of the business strategy and provide appropriate strategic counsel, coaching and consulting that enables managers to turn the business strategy into business practice

* Proactive liaison with counterparts in other locations and divisions on HR issues and initiatives

* Operate in full compliance with applicable US employment laws and CS company policies and those of other jurisdictions also (e.g. UK, Switzerland).

* Proven background as a HR Business Partner ideally within Investment banking sector supporting a front office client group or previous experience of front office stakeholders groups.

* Ability to manage initiatives by demonstrating a high level of commercial business acumen, creative insight of practical HR solutions to meet business challenges and mitigate risk.

* Broad knowledge and experience of HR best practices in employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation, policy/procedure development and interpretation

* Solid relationship building, influence and consultation skills. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with senior management and stakeholders.

* Efficiently manage across organisational and regional boundaries in order to succeed in a highly-matrixed global organisation

* Excellent organisation, written/verbal communication, analytical mindset and commercial acumen.

* Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, operate independently as a self-starter and demonstrate initiative and drive
