Human Resources Generalist III (UICGS16-1327-Z): UIC Government Services seeks a Human Resources Generalist III who is capable of exercising independent discretion and judgment, in support of various HR functions. This position requires a candidate who is proactive and can work on projects individually and as part of a team. Essential functions include: Manage all employee maintenance items including HRIS system upgrades, data integrity and integration of HRIS with accounting systems. Ensure staff is entering and maintaining employee data entry and retention both electronically and hard copies Oversee Leave Administration processes ensuring compliance with FMLA and ADA. Performs benefits administration to include enrollments, claims resolution, change reporting, and open enrollment for communicating benefit information to employees. Streamline processes and support the organization in managing change. Work with parent company to recommend, develop, and implement effective human resources solutions across the entire organization. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed. Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Supervise junior level human resources staff. Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of direct human resources experience and 2+ years' supervisory experience. Prior benefits administration experience Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with all levels of employees. Manages situations and quickly find effective compliant solutions. Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees. Appropriately delegate tasks, distributes workload, and gives clear directions. Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Must be familiar with and be able to apply FMLA, ADA, FLSA, SCA and general employment laws. HRIS experience Proficient with all Microsoft Office Suite products, with strong experience using Excel Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team Physical Demands: The office environmental conditions consist of computer stations and desks with adequate and adjustable lighting. Chairs are designed to fit the various individuals and the tasks being performed. Ergonomic evaluations are completed as needed, to provide up to date modifications to all work stations.
