The posh and art deco Crowne Plaza Tampa Westshore Hotel is seeking a strong Human Resources Generalist. In addition to the core responsibilities of ensuring delivery of all HR related programs, policies and procedures the HR Generalist will be accountable for providing a culture of integrity, fairness, honesty and opportunity that is expected at every Chesapeake Hospitality property. In this role, you will be expected to do the following: Works closely with General Manager, management team and corporate staff in areas such as recruitment, training and development, career planning, employee relations, discipline and HR legal issues. Recruit for all hotel positions which includes job posting, interviewing, drug screening, background checks, reference checking and I-9 verification. Plan and conduct new hire orientation and employee training sessions monthly. Ensures proper management of personnel record-keeping, personnel files, personnel reports and statistics. Keeps abreast of present and future trends, practices and computer systems related to HR and makes recommendations as appropriate. Manage the benefits programs including health, dental, 401K and voluntary benefits. Manage all employee rewards, recognition programs and monthly luncheons. Handle the employee relations matters with tact and sensitivity. Ensure that workplace safety standards are met and maintained - communicated through monthly meetings. Ensure the compliance of the HR function to federal and state laws and regulations. Assure employee adherence to all policies and procedures set forth by Chesapeake Hospitality. Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required. Leads employee efforts to support Chesapeake Hospitality's partnership with the charity Give Kids the World; increasing awareness of their mission to help sick children and their families. For you to be the ideal candidate, you should have the following: Thorough knowledge of HR laws and practices. Exceptional communication skills in order to prepare official memoranda and correspondence as well as provide clear and meaningful instructions, guidance and counseling to all employees. Ability to observe employees in the workplace, analyze operations and detect situations of concern with regard to areas such as employee performance, grooming, training, policy adherence and morale. A commitment to confidentiality and building trusting relationships with all the employees. Remarkable multitasking and prioritizing skills. Experience working in a hotel would be a plus.
