JOB DESCRIPTION

HR MANAGER

_ROLE PURPOSE:_

The HR Manager is responsible for providing both strategic and tactical HR-related support to the New Jersey team with additional support provided to the teams across the country (as needed). This role partners closely with leaders and directly supports the VP of Finance. This role is also the primary point of contact for all HR-related employee inquiries and issue resolution.

_WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: _

*

_ALL GENERAL HR INQUIRIES AND ISSUE RESOLUTIONS_ regarding policies, procedures and practices. Escalates to VP Finance as needed.
*

_ADMINISTERS VARIOUS HUMAN RESOURCE PLANS, PROGRAMS AND PROCEDURES_ for all company team members; assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and related policies and procedures manual.
*

_HR DEPARTMENT EVOLUTION_ - Contributes to the development of department goals, objectives, metrics, improvements, programs, procedures, practices and systems to effect continual evolution and improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of department and services performed.
*

_BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION_ - Performs benefits administration to include processing new hires, claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, communicating benefit information to employees, liaising with brokers, insurance carriers and other external agencies; administers and monitors disability cases.
*

_COMPENSATION_ - Administers the company compensation program including: job documentation, incentives, survey input, salary reviews and changes; inputs all salary-related information into HRIS and payroll systems;
*

_PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT_ - Administers the company performance evaluation program including annual and mid-year performance review process, initiative-setting and monitoring and development of Individual Development Plans (IDPs);
*

_ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT assists in talent management and capability-building activities as assigned by VP Finance.
*

_TALENT ACQUISITION_ - facilitates and/or conducts recruitment efforts for regular full time and temporary openings (as required) for exempt, nonexempt and student positions. May write/place advertisements, maintain company relationship with employment agencies, universities, and other recruitment sources, coordinates and leads new employee onboarding, maintains compliance with federal and state regulations and reporting requirements in relation to new hires. Ensures all new hire paperwork processed and entered in Payroll and HRIS. Administers and ensures completion of "After-Care" onboarding survey.

_OFFICE HEALTH & SAFETY_ - serves as primary point of contact and lead for office Health coordinates training with external vendors, communicates information to all team members, responds to inquiries/issues and facilitates resolution. Ensures health and safety supplies are maintained.

_EMPLOYMENT LEGISLATIVE COMPLIANCE_ - Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1report annually; maintains other governmental/federalcontractor records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations. Remains current (and in compliance with) federal and regulations concerning employment.
*

_IMMIGRATION_ - Tracks and monitors Visa's and other company relocation-related documentation for foreign hires and/or transfers (Temporary or Permanent).
*

_TRAINING_ - schedules in-house training (with external providers); may deliver training/presentations (as needed) in relation to benefits, HR programs/policies/procedures, harassment and other programs, as assigned. Main liaison with external training providers/vendors/consultants.
*

_EMPLOYEE RELATIONS_ - First point of contact for employee relations; identifies opportunities to implement employee relations policies and practices that add value to the business; Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing (as needed). Pro-actively identifying potential employee relations concerns/issues; Escalates more complex employee relations issues to VP Finance. Monitors and advises on Employee Relations "trends" within the organization.

_HRIS_ _ADMINISTRATION_ - Maintains human resource information system records including: Inputting new hire information, changes and terminations into the system. Generates reports and performs data analytics as needed.

_PROJECT MANAGEMENT_ - participates and/or leads in HR-related projects, as assigned.
*

_EMPLOYEE COMMUNICATIONS_ - drafts and delivers employee communications writing effectively for the applicable audience.
*

_PAYROLL_ - backup for Payroll Manager, as needed.
*

_EVENTS COORDINATION_ - identifying and coordinating Wellness program events, additional participation in other events, as assigned;

OTHER DUTIES: performs other related duties as required and assigned by VP Finance.

_WHAT YOU BRING:_

*

A bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field;
*

5-7years' diverse human resource generalist experience including strong collaboration with both internal and external partners;
*

SHRM Certification (PHR); SPHR a plus
*

Manufacturing/Distribution experience (a plus);
*

Knowledge of federal and state employment and benefit laws
*

Systems and tech savvy including intermediate-advanced level working knowledge with Word, Excel and Powerpoint. HRIS, Payroll, Survey and action planning software/tools.
