JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Fast growing Agoura Hills based Workers? Compensation Law Firm with approximately 40 attorneys is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager. The HR Manager will play a key role in effectively and strategically managing the office including planning, coordinating, and managing employee matters for all staff and attorneys in a dynamic environment.
? Identifies training needs/ issues, designs and conducts training and development programs and supports the development, implementation, and assessment of on-going training programs.
? The HR Manager will oversee staff to assure they produce the required work output, work accordingly to office rules and regularly monitor staff workloads to assure balance.
? Supervises and develops legal secretarial and all clerical staff. Organizes, delegates and coordinates the work of the secretaries to ensure department objectives are met timely and accurately.
? The HR Manager will assume responsibility for recruiting process of all staff candidates in the office. Ensures advertising and job placement is appropriate for all positions to generate a valuable candidate pool. Interviews candidates as appropriate, and makes recommendations to managers regarding quality candidates.
? Researches and provides continuous improvement in the overall departments? operations.
? Stays abreast of new human resources processes and market trends including current and pending federal, state, and local employment laws or court precedents.
? The human resource manager will act as a lead resource in the office for human resources questions, issues, initiatives, programs and processes.
? Provides guidance and direction to with regards to employee development and relations issues including hiring, training, and counseling, coaching, and disciplining employees.
? Counsels staff who are not meeting firm standards and creates plans for improvement. Makes recommendations with respect to employee terminations. Coordinates exit procedures, conducts exit interviews and maintains reports that track employee turnovers.
? Interprets and implements the firm's Human Resources policies.
? Maintains employee records for entire office. Responds to EEOC, ADA, workers' compensation, and unemployment claims based on firm policies and standards. Conducts annual file audit to ensure compliance with all federal, state or country regulations.
? Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field.
? A minimum of 8 + years of HR experience in a professional services environment (law preferred).
? Excellent communication skills; proven leadership, decision making, coaching and problem solving skills.
? Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous priorities and offices.
? Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
? Willingness to travel to local offices.
