HOURLY RATE: PER CBA
Assists in the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of state-of-the-art information technology systems including local and wide area networks, mini and microcomputer systems, and associated peripheral devices, and services operating systems and application programs to collect, manipulate, and distribute mission data. Assists in performing the functions of a computer system analyst, operating and coordinating networks, data links, and circuits; transmitting, receiving, operating, monitoring, controlling and processing all forms of digital media; and applying diagnostic, corrective and recovery techniques. Assists in the administration of computer information systems and maintenance of all necessary security logs, updates, and backups in accordance with AR 25-2, applicable Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) and System Security Authorization Agreement (SSAA) documentation, and Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO) policies. Applies diagnostic, corrective and recovery techniques, evaluates network communication problems, isolates malfunctions, and incorporates engineering changes. Applies technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems that can be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Works on Cisco network switches, KVM switches, and high-speed PC-based digital instrumentation systems and facility system servers. Receives technical guidance from supervisor and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices and work assignments. Work will include cross-utilization into other jobs as required. May require some overtime and weekend work and possible travel assignments.

Demonstration of satisfactory skill and good performance in Information Systems Technology; three years progressive experience in the specific field or graduation from a two year resident course at a technical institute. Experience must include at least one year of progressive computer experience in PC operations as applied to computer-controlled instrumentation. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain certification as a Security Administrator under ATEC 25-2 or its successor regulation. Must possess a valid driver s license. Must be able to lift and manipulate rack mount and laptop computers during assembly and may be required to enter cableways and racks during installation and troubleshooting. Candidate selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Demonstrate an understanding of maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of information technology systems, computers, software, hardware, peripherals, and devices. Experience using Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP or later Operating Systems, software, and computer networks.
