Job Overview
In this position, the Wireless/Radio Frequency (RF) Technician is required to have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in RF spectrum dependent telecommunications systems and equipment, including (but not limited to) Trunked Land Mobile Radio System(s), Digital Paging System(s), Global Positioning System (GPS), Microwave System(s), Conventional Land Mobile Radio System(s), Spread Spectrum System(s), and other wireless applications.

Responsibilities
Specific Duties:

* Maintain Federal Communications Commission (FCC) General-radio Telephone Operator License PG that is required to adjust, maintain, or internally repair FCC licensed radio/telephone transmitters in aviation, maritime, and international fixed public radio services.

* Maintain the following RF, paging, microwave, distributed antenna system (DAS), and Gasboy systems:

* Trident PassPort network trunking system

* Zetron 2200 series paging terminals (main hot standby)

* Glenayre 2800 series, very high frequency (VHF) high power, simulcast paging assembly

* Harris/Farinon quadra link, 7GHz

* Nera interlink NL2007CBA-A10AAA, 7GHz

* Redline AN50I PTP datalink, 5.8GHz

* AvaLAN 900MHz IP addressed local multipoint distribution system (LMDS) transceivers

* Direct involvement in work order evaluation, scheduling, and execution, and on-time work order update and closeout.

* Isolate system problems and malfunctions; take timely corrective action to meet conditions of MTS contract.

* Additional work hours beyond normal duty hours may be necessary, at times, to complete the weekly workload based upon the discretion of the supervisor.

* On-call availability during off-hours in the event of service problems with the system.

* Effective time management to allow for involvement in special task order projects as assigned by the supervisor.

* Fostering of excellent relations with the Customer and the team on behalf of MTS.

* Ability to operate heavy equipment/vehicles such as bucket trucks/elevated platforms.

* Capable of working effectively with co-workers and fulfill customer requests

Requirements
Required Training/Certification:

* Federal Communications Commission (FCC) General-radio Telephone Operator License PG

Qualifications:

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.

* Strong computer skills with emphasis on applications are required.

* Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously is required.

* Must be a US citizen with a valid passport

* Ability to work extremely flexible hours and support on-call duties and shift work is required.

* A valid driver s license is required.

Education/Experience:

* Minimum Associates degree, 2 year technical degree, relevant military experience, equivalent special electronics training, or five (5) years of equivalent work experience is required.
