High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelors Degree preferred with proven linguistic abilities in medical interpreting. 2. Must be bilingual in English and language to be interpreted, as well as culturally competent, with solid knowledge of medical terminology and competence in communicating the meaning of terms. Formal interpreter training preferred. 3. Strong ability to interprete diagnostic processes, treatments, procedures, and preventive care. 4. Ability to produce oral translation or written translation of written texts such as application forms, signage, medical release forms or consents, and any other documents. 5. Interpersonal skills necessary to obtain information from patients and interact effectively with patients, families and hospital personnel in all settings. 6. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80 percent of work time when interviewing patients, providing therapy and/or preparing discharge plans.We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
