Department: I.S. Customer Support
The Desktop Support Technician (DST) is the primary technical contact to promote and deliver outstanding service for Holland Hospital. The DST s primary roles are to configure and support desktops, laptops and other end user devices and to coordinate Tier II and Tier III support as necessary. Providing telephone-based support will be a considerable part of this position. This work requires the DST to possess excellent problem solving, technical and communication skills. Work entails real-time tracking of troubleshooting activities, knowledge base entry, inventory distribution and other documentation, as required by the problem workflow. DST s must adhere to Hospital and departmental policies, best practices and standards. The DST position requires high level of enthusiasm and willingness to contribute to a team environment.
Minimum Education/Training: High School graduate possessing good communication skills in the English language.Registration/Certification or License Required: An A+ Certification and or other accredited certification within Information Systems is preferred.Preferred Education: An associates degree in an IT/IS related field or minimum of two years of technical training or work experience in a support role.Preferred Experience: 0-3 years of professional experience within an IT/IS field or related area. Intermediate understanding of operating systems, including working knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 7, Novell and GroupWise. Experience with TCP/IP concepts and HP Compaq equipment would be considered a plus. Strong customer service orientation.
Management Experience (If applicable): NonePhysical Requirements: Carry 40 pounds infrequently for short distances. Lift 40 pounds infrequently from floor to waist. Frequent horizontal reach, fingering (keyboard), and hand manipulation. Occasional stooping, squatting, and kneeling. One hour, one time tolerance to sitting. Frequent and prolonged sitting.Other Requirements: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines. Ability to handle emergency or crisis situations and provide on-call support responsibilities as required or needed. Understanding of HIPAA and ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality. Must be a motivated, self-starter.
**This is a weekend position. Candidates must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays.** Full Time Days
