IT Desktop Support Technician - ReqCode 4469

WMAR-TV/ABC2 is seeking an experienced, organized, detailed individual to maintain the integrity of its operating system environment , perform server administration and provide technical support to the operating unit. The successful candidate will provide first tier troubleshooting of operating system and application problems.
Duties will include but not exclusive to:
* Perform installation, setup and maintenance of personal computers and local area networks (LAN) including hardware and software.
* Perform software upgrades and weekly backup of critical systems. Maintain all controls established by Sarbanes/Oxley 404 and WMAR/EWS Policy.
* Perform duties as network administrator in maintaining security, providing training and support to all users.
* Maintain security providing training and support to all users. Provide mentoring to other administrators and engineers on technical issues and advanced topics.
* Apprise station management of hardware and software applications that may improve productivity and efficiency within WMAR-TV.
* Assist in training station employees in the use of various software applications.
* Communicate with WMAR-TV management on issues related to network security.
* Perform other duties as needed and directed by the Director of Engineering.

Requirements:
* Education: College degree preferred. Technical school diploma, two years computer technical degree or equivalent will be considered.
* Experience: Two years minimum of hands-on computer software, hardware, LAN support and maintenance. Experience in television station broadcast operations preferred.
* Equipment: Various manufacturers equipment such as but not limited to HP, Dell, IBM, Apple PC Computers, printers, network cabling, client services, communications hardware.
* Software: Windows7, Windows NT, MS Windows XP, MS Office, Apple and Mac operating systems, Final Cut Pro editing software, etc.
* Skills/Abilities: Must possess skills of time management and self-motivation; the ability to work independently as well as with other people. Able to communicate effectively with department and station personnel. Some moderate lifting may be required. Flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
* License/Certificate: Valid driver's license and good driving record.
