Aon is looking for an IT Operations Specialist
As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our business group within Aon Service Corporation.
To work in a 24X7 technology restoration and availability command center as an Application Support Lead. Responsible for Operational Activities supporting Aon s Global Application portfolio. Provide direction to policy related decisions to support expeditious incident restoration. Accountable for progress reporting of incidents and support projects/implementations being driven by the functional teams. Deep application support knowledge in at least one application support area with strong verbal and written communication. Reviews processes to make sure they fit the current business model and able to find acceptable solutions. Basic understanding of ITIL processes.
YOUR IMPACT AS AN IT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
-Environment Architecture Knowledge/understanding
-Application Architecture (Technical) knowledge
-Understanding of data flow within tiers for different transactions
-Understanding of business use of technology to support Aon s global goals
-Understanding of Application Stakeholders and expected communication
PRODUCTION OPS SUPPORT
-Understanding for Application roadmaps and release strategy to support TRACC s incident management objectives
-Understanding of clients SLAs and associated financial penalty clauses
-Change Impact Assessment
-The Support Lead also has to train a broader TAS team to be able to support Application Technical Support functions 24X7
EVENT MANAGEMENT SUPPORT
-Ensure monitor Critical Alerts is taking place & engage MIM for major incidents
-Support A-Proactive Management team in quicker diagnosis for exception & non-conformities.
-Awareness & ability to action on Application monitoring setups / run books / expected results
-Work with Application/infrastructure teams on new features & assess impact on monitoring
MAJOR INCIDENTS/ PROBLEM SUPPORT
-Provide Guidance from the Application standpoint for triaging & Diagnosing the issues
-Provide Business context to MIM/TAS teams
-Assist in validating appropriate business communications (TEXT, Mails, and PIR etc.)
-Execute manual validation on apps where appropriate
-Execute Proactive Problem Management
-Follow-up with Infra/App Dev for reactive problem Management
-Initiate service improvements (Review trends/analysis of incidents & initiate corrective initiatives)
TRACC STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT/COMMUNICATION
-TRACC Enabler for Application/Functional (APP BU) team
-Eyes & Ears of App IT team s in TRACC
-Support periodic service reviews with stakeholders
-Capacity Management Space utilization & related actions
-Vulnerability Management ( Scans, Aon standards)
-Quarterly Audits Server access / DB access
-Backup Management failure & remediation
-Log Management ( Security logs / space logs)
-License Management ( Servers / Application)
YOU BRING KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
-Experience with the restoration of high severity incidents
-Experience leading and driving restoration calls
-Experience setting up, deploying and supporting applications
-Experience managing JVM s (i.e. WebLogic and all middleware components)
-Unix and Windows shell scripting experience for automation
-Basic understanding of ITIL processes.
FORMAL EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION
-Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience
-ITIL certified Added advantage
-Certification in Java/.Net platform Added advantage
