Job Description

This position is for a manufacturing systems specialist within the Rolls Royce Crosspointe Disc Manufacturing Engineering team. This is a very exciting opportunity that will develop the right candidate into the key/super user for all manufacturing IT systems within the facility. The responsibilities for the role will include the configuration and deployment of all manufacturing IT systems for cells two and three of the factory, development and delivery of automated data collection and reporting for the factory operations management system, delivery of key strategic goals including paperless factory and fully integrated machine monitoring system, and management of the implementation of CADCAM strategy for the site. It will be expected that the successful candidate will develop strong links with the key players across the central manufacturing systems teams and as they grow into the role will start to influence policy through proactive participation in the relevant communities of practice.

Crosspointe Discs is a new Rolls Royce disc facility that is currently in the final phase of construction in Prince George VA. Manufacture of parts commenced in Q1 2011 in the first of three dedicated cells that will be established over the next two years. Over this period the facility will take manufacturing responsibility for five key Rolls Royce volume disc components that will be transferred from the UK. Manufacturing Systems are fundamental to the facility's ability to successfully ramp up production and deliver stable, capable processes for these disc without rework or concession, whether it be monitoring in real time that the machine and process are in control, to providing traceability of all parts at all times, to ensuring the operational data is available when needed to enable informed decision making.

Basic:
