SENIOR DATA ANALYST SUMMARY Supports and/or improves business processes with information technology solutions. Develops, designs, and analyzes unique and diverse systems and/or programs of considerable scope and complexity. Ensures integrity of the company's databases, transaction processing and reporting systems, security, resource monitoring, reporting, and the development of specialized systems and processes. Key to this role will be: Proactively working on the decommissioning of legacy reporting systems and working to rationalize the reporting complexity into an efficient and accurate Executive Information System. Analyzing data and business processes to ensure data integrity and expedience of information systems via automated delivery, OLAP, Internal and External Dashboards, and integration to Parker's various core systems. Provide core server based solutions for a range of rapidly developing market requirements via MS SQL platform and minimize end user computing overheads. Identify key business and data requirements to support the selection and implementation ensuring a consistent business process and data approach is applied across the CSO locations. Provide support for key projects for business needs as Demand Planning, Forecasting, Product Life Cycle Management, Pricing etc across core systems OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Performs systems analysis of unique and considerable scope and complexity that includes requirements definition, interfacing with users, and providing cost and benefit analyses. Prepares complex trade-off studies and benchmark analyses. 2. Develops and manages information technology project plans and schedules. Acts as consultant to management on major matters. May serve as project leader on assigned projects requiring advanced, specialized knowledge. Establishes goals, objectives, and timelines required to complete projects; explains work methods, and ensures project assignment completeness, timeliness and accuracy. Estimates, develops, and manages project budgets and cost/performance analyses. 3. Confers with program and/or system users to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and evaluate specific input and output requirements. 4. Develop or modify highly complex computer programs by writing detailed description of user needs, program functions, and processing steps required. 5. Determines if requested program change is possible within existing system by reviewing computer system capabilities, processes, workflow, and implementation schedule. Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses. Analyzes proposed changes in methods and materials. 6. Analyzes, develops, plans, codes or installs software, tests, documents, and implements complex business applications required to develop or maintain systems. Prepares process documentation to specify, in detail, operations to be performed by computer systems. Upgrades and maintains systems after implementation. 7. Interfaces with information technology staff throughout the Aerospace Group to coordinate project development, changes, or implementation. Communicates with external customers and suppliers to resolve technical and business issues. 8. Applies and may lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve the efficiency of internal systems and processes within the division and/or with corporate and customer involvement. 9. Prepares project status reports to inform management of project progress and resource requirements. Identifies any issues that need to be elevated to management for resolution or assistance. 10. Oversees development of training modules and trains users for effective implementation and use of new systems. Prepares and gives technical presentations. 11. Leads new technology evaluation related to operating systems, hardware, software packages, development tools, and methodologies. Identifies alternative or new technologies and implements them as Information Technology standards. 12. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical professional publications, establishing industry networks, and/or participating in professional associations. 13. Complies with federal and state legal requirements (e.g. software licensing, confidentiality of employee records); ensures adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions. Researches existing and new legislation and proposes policy changes. 14. Assesses skills and identifies training needs. May serve as functional expert. Trains and mentors less experienced employees. May provide leadership to others in department or to ad-hoc teams. 15. Shares specialized knowledge with others. Represents Company on specific projects. Prepares and conducts technical presentations on selected topics. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g. continuous improvement). QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through ten or more years increasingly responsible related application/infrastructure experience utilizing the company's standard toolsets. Specific assignment may require recognized certification in area of expertise. Degree in IT with a strong Data Analysis, Database Design and Process Analysis bias. Strong technical skills in Microsoft SQL at various version including Analysis Services. Experience in developing local turnkey end user solutions in a .Net, VB, MS SQL environments. Excellent Documentation and Training skills. Experience in Data Warehousing, Reporting Tools, Analytical Tools and OLAP Cubes. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Advanced, specialized knowledge of programming, system design and analysis principles, industry practices, regulations, and overall business operations. Specific area of assignment may require knowledge in specific or multiple products and tools such as: technical knowledge of software and hardware selection implementation and testing methodology, client/server application development, architecture, database-connectivity and database design methodology; and, advanced, specialized knowledge of manufacturing and support organizations, business and workflow process, and quality methods.
