JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an imaging artist to join our LA team.

The imagining artist provides image retouching, color correction, or compositing on assigned projects. The imaging artist may provide photos/illustrations or low-res comps. Duties also include prepress and studio support related projects.

Responsibilities:

Retouches all artwork according to creative and production specifications.
- Works with the head of studio, producers, project managers, and assigned ADs/CDs to achieve desired results.
- Advises creative on the best way to achieve approved concepts via illustration/retouching/prepress techniques.
- Ability to meet deadlines and multitask in a demanding, fast-paced environment.- Prepares and reviews proofs.
- Discusses final art with assigned art director/CD/PM for each project.
- Confirms all production deadlines with the head of studio/project manager.
- Acts as a production artist when necessary or when specifically requested to do so.
- Discusses outside production elements required for the job with various vendors.
- Reviews all work for errors/omissions with the head of studio prior to turning in work for creative/AE/client approval.
- Makes all requested changes/corrections promptly and correctly.
- Preflights and checks all artwork for the correct press or usage.
- Ability and willingness to work late/weekends when workloads require it.
- Acts as a technical adviser to junior staff.
- May be called upon to maintain production/prepress?related computer equipment, including but not limited to scanning equipment, output devices, servers, web-related software, software, and all related hardware.
- Evaluates and scans original artwork to achieve acceptable reproduction-quality output.- Works with the studio manager to develop color-calibration techniques that produce consistent color output from scanner to monitor to output device.

Qualifications/Competencies:
- Good interpersonal, communication, and client-service skills
- Advanced knowledge of prepress, print, and photography
- Expert skills in Photoshop
- Works effectively with others to provide seamless client service
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team atmosphere
- Vision for overall picture
- Excellent design and creative sense
- Acute attention to detail
- Good eye for color
