VCU Health Systems Radiology Administration department is seeking a full time Imaging Location Manager. This position will provide day-to-day management and supervision for assigned Imaging location(s) to include human resources management; operations; relationship development; financial /budget management; legal and regulatory compliance; strategic planning; and capital equipment planning and installation oversight. Works collaboratively with Modality Manager(s), Associate Operations Director, and location medical director to ensure processes, protocols, staff competency, and workflows align with departmental standards. To ensure that all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed by qualified and competent staff, are of the highest quality achievable and follow the radiation safety principles of ALARA and ACR Guidelines for MRI Safety, and other applicable professional organization standards. Ensures compliance with VCU and VCUHS policies and procedures. Resolves problems, workflow, customer service and human resource issues. Implements new initiatives, programs and policies. Works collaboratively with other Imaging Mangers, Faculty and staff to ensure a high level departmental safety, quality, and teamwork. Responsible and accountable for the daily clinical operation of the assigned location(s) by ensuring the highest level of operational excellence while ensuring safety, efficient, high quality and cost effective care. Manages, oversees, maintains and improves business functions and processes related to his/her areas of responsibility.
All day to day operations and leadership of staff.
Advice and guidance sought from Associate Director and/or Director as needed situational basis and when there is a major impact on activity of the section.
With guidance from appropriate health system resources, advice and guidance sought for termination of employees, handling employee grievances, review of annual goals and budget, approval of section guidelines and procedures, review of staff performance evaluations.
All employees (except faculty) in assigned Radiology area report to this position; supervisory responsibilities may be delegated as appropriate.
May have rotational responsibilities of Manager on-call.


Graduation from a JRC Accredited Program in Radiologic Technology
Bachelors Degree in Clinical Radiation Science or closely related field from an accredited program (for managers hired after 7/1/2012)
Current Certification by:
American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or
Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or ARRT (N) (for Nuclear Medicine/PET Manager) or
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or ARRT(S)
Current Specialty Registry in at least one of the following (exception Diagnostic/Fluoro Mgr.):
ARRT in Mammography
ARDMS Specialty
ARRT CV or VI or CI\
PET or NC (Nuclear Cardiology)
Minimum of four (4) years of progressively more responsible Diagnostic Radiology supervisory/management experience
