WORK REMOTELY SELLING ROOMS AND MEETING SPACE AT OUR PROPERTY IN SOUTH LAKE TAHOE -THE FABULOUS BEACH RETREAT & LODGE! POSITION SUMMARY: The In-market Group Sales Manager will secure and develop accounts primarily in the Sacramento area for the benefit of the Beach Retreat and Lodge. The sales manager will target corporate, government and association business in the area. This position is responsible for soliciting new group sales accounts, entertaining, and maintaining relationships with existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals in rooms, food, beverage, and room rental. The In-Market Group Sales manager will be required to make in person, face to face sales calls with existing and potential accounts in the Sacramento area as well as travel to the Beach Retreat & Lodge at least twice a month for regular site visits and meetings. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Meeting and exceeding assigned revenue and sales call goals. Maximizing hotel revenues through group and banquet events. Actively soliciting new business through outside sales calls; inside appointments, telemarketing; attendance at trade shows, networking with local and market segment events, etc. Maximizing revenue by completely identifying client needs and by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients. Handling account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments participation in servicing accounts. Effective communication with both client and various hotel operating departments so that needs are clearly understood and executed. Conducting all sales related interactions with the highest level of professionalism, including appearance. Documentation of sales productivity/activity to the Director of Sales on a weekly basis. Maintaining complete and accurate records of potential and secured accounts, bookings, client requests and specifications in Sales Management system. Maintaining effective and timely follow up on leads, proposals and contracts. Preparing reports as assigned to include sales call reports, weekly planned activities, marketing plans, etc. Effective use of time to maximize key selling times. Effective meetings with Director of Sales, Sales team and operations team as specified. This includes proper preparation for the meeting to accomplish stated objectives. Interact with all team members in a professional and courteous manner. Attend all employee meetings unless excused in advance. Be knowledgeable of hotel property, amenities, promotions and activities. May assist with other duties as assigned.
