Job Description

Installs, repairs, and maintain machinery, equipment, physical structures, electrical, process and utility systems by performing maintenance support duties, both planned and unplanned. Runs diagnostic tests on malfunctioning equipment and performs repairs and preventive/predictive maintenance activities in all areas of plant.
-Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on utility systems (to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, cooling, electric power, gas, or air required for operations) and production and processing equipment (optimizing uptime and minimizing downtime); following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications. -Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. -Troubleshoots, installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers, VFD?s, wiring and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, including basic PLC control systems. -Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. -Provides related technical guidance and expertise; assisting and coaching Maintenance, Operations and QA associates on an ongoing basis. -Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Closes out work orders in MP2 CMMS, while writing technical summaries and descriptions, detailing work performed, for permanent record keeping. -Complies with the following initiatives: Maintenance Excellence, Management Operating System (MOS), Safe Quality Foods (SQF), 5S, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Process Safety Management (PSM) -Provides related technical guidance and expertise; assisting and coaching Maintenance, Operations and QA associates on an ongoing basis. -Complies with National, State, local building/mechanical/electrical codes; safety codes, OSHA regulations; fire codes; company's and customer's policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-Multi-craft/multi-skilled with expertise in electrical, electrical controls, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics and fabrication. -Working and practical knowledge of plant utility systems, (including boiler systems, ammonia refrigeration systems, compressed air systems, waste water treatment) -Working knowledge of PLC?s, VFD?s, Servo?s and plant automation systems. -Previous experience with industrial controls using Allen Bradley control platforms, Motor Controls (Servo and VFD) a definite plus. -Working knowledge of National, State, Local building codes, OSHA and standard industry safety rules/regulations. Education and Experience
-Associates degree in an applicable technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience is highly desirable. -5 years of related industrial troubleshooting, maintenance and repair experience on highly technical, precision equipment, including 3 years experience troubleshooting and repairing filling, packaging and process equipment. Language Skills
-Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, mechanical and electrical drawings, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to fill out routine reports, correspondence documents and to speak effectively when conveying information to other employees. Should have good oral/written communication skills and possess tact. Computer Skills
-Working knowledge of computer system input, retrieval and use or the ability to learn in a reasonable training period. -Software including: MP2 Compute
