Job Summary Statement:
The Industry Sponsored Research and Material Transfer Associate is a member of the Office of Intellectual Property & Industry Sponsored Research (OIP- ISR) and reports to the Associate Director of Industry Sponsored Research. Provides a wide-range of services related to research programs funded by industry or supported by transfer of research materials. These services include negotiating basic research contracts, providing on-going administrative management support during the term of a contract, facilitating the close-out of such contracts, and providing support to Industry Sponsored Research Officers, Assistant and Associate Director and Director.

Incumbent must master a wide range of complex operational and administrative matters related to the review, negotiation, and processing of research contracts; and support the Industry Research and Material Transfer Officers, Assistant Director and Director with the same. Must serve as a point of contact for department administrative personnel and faculty members in a proactive and exceedingly professional manner. Must be familiar with and maintain University and campus academic policies and administrative standards.

REQUIRED/PREFERRED


Working knowledge of university policies that apply to industry contract proposal preparation; submission and processing.

Working knowledge of university department structures, accounting systems and fund management models.

Demonstrated ability to draft and review contracts in an academic, non-profit, corporate or legal environment.

Demonstrated experience with data entry and data integrity responsibilities.

Demonstrated ability to manage a heavy workload while identifying priority situations and meeting deadlines.

Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with campus community and funding entity staff.
