JOB DESCRIPTIONWe seek an exceptional full-time Informatics specialist with a strong background in bioinformatics and chemoinformatics to establish an informatics group at Dice. The informatics group will be charged with storing and processing NGS (next-generation sequencing) data and developing chemoinformatics algorithms to enable directed evolution of small molecule compounds. The group will also be responsible for developing a LIMS system to interface with the NGS data. Experience with database management systems and NGS data analysis is a must. Familiarity with chemoinformatics platforms such as Knime, statistical packages like R, parallel cloud computing (e.g. AWS), and cloud laboratory APIs are preferred.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish an informatics group at Dice
Develop a searchable database system to store NGS data from different selections
Design a suite of programs to process NGS data from raw DNA sequences into predicted compounds and develop chemoinformatic algorithms to identify any enrichment/selection patterns
Develop web-based suite to permit end-users to query and retrieve information from databases and develop interfaces for Knime and R to allow statistical and chemoinformatic analyses.
Support team with setting up protocols for outsourcing to cloud-based robotic laboratory and in-house laboratory automation
