The Middleware Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for Web and Application Servers supporting Hanover's platform-based applications. The individual is responsible for the installation, configuration and overall health of middleware software and other platform-based applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Servers.Responsibilities:
- Partners with architects, developers and other technical resources on the design of large scale SOA environments.- Design and use automation tools for installations, software updates and overall maintenance of server environment.- Provides export level knowledge and escalation point of middleware software to operational teams to troubleshoot and debug availability and performance related issues.- Ensures monitoring tools are in place to prevent outages to the environment and applications.- Maintains Disaster Recovery procedures and participates in periodic disaster recovery testing- Maintains environment documentationPosition RequirementsRequirements:
- Knowledge of some of the following products:
- IBM WebSphere Application Server (v6.x - 8.5)- IBM WebSphere Portal- IBM DataPower- Tomcat Application Server- WebLogic Application Server- Apache, IBM IHS and Microsoft IIS web server- Apache Solr / ZooKeeper Ensembles- IBM ITCAM Monitoring Tools- Knowledge of Linux Shell Scripting is a plus- Knowledge of PowerShell Scripting is a plus- Knowledge of Wsadmin command language is a plus- Experience with automation tools for installs, configurations, patching of environment- Ability to analyze thread dumps for problem determination- Ability to troubleshoot application issues across a distributed environment- Good Communication Skills- Outstanding Customer Service- 2-5 Years Information Systems experienceRecognized as one of America's Best Employers by Forbes, The Hanover is proud to be among the top property and casualty insurers in the United States.
