JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY SUMMARY- the Center Manager shall be thoroughly knowledgeable about home infusion pharmacy practice and management by mobilizing and managing the resources, both human and financial, necessary for the optimal provision of pharmacy services. This position is responsible for operation of a Lincare center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
*Responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating, and updating plans and activities to fulfill the mission, vision, goals, and scope of services of Lincare Infusion
*Ensures that pharmacy services are delivered in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations
*Monitors the status of the goals set forth in the department's vision, provide feedback to the pharmacy team as necessary, and support the team's implementation of the core functions of the pharmacy practice.
*Attends work on a regular and predictable basis
*Responsible for Interviewing, hiring, training and supervising quality candidates and conducting or delegating to the appropriate manager all annual appraisal reviews for each employee
*Maintains a professional image and demeanor in both appearance and actions
*Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information
*Utilizes support personnel effectively and manages employee workloads to effectively manage overtime
*Implements the Lincare safety programs, including maintaining records, in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations that apply to OSHA, DOT and FDA as outlined in the Safety & Regulatory Manual.
*Ensures the safety of all staff in emergency situations by appropriately directing staff according to Emergency Preparedness plan as outlined in the Safety & Regulatory Manual
*Controls inventory and purchases equipment and supplies through the central purchasing function
*Reviews third-party payer contracts to ensure that reimbursement is appropriate for services being rendered and that terms of the contracts are in the best interests of the patient and the health system
*Will be knowledgeable about reimbursements for home infusion pharmaceutical services, medications, supplies, durable medical equipment, and, if applicable, nursing services.
*Oversees contracting (for example home health agencies, reimbursement entities and payers, contract staff.)
*Responsible for oversight of all inspections and audits from financial and accrediting bodies and follows facility inspection checklist per Lincare policy
*Responsible for monthly revenue reports based on drug procurement, drug expenditures, inventory management, determination and analysis of pharmacy service costs, capital equipment acquisition, budgeting (including analysis of budgetary variances, patient revenue projections, and justification of personnel commensurate with workload productivity), and payer audits
*Reviews monthly patient satisfaction survey results for both positive and negative comments so that corrective action can be targeted to service issues. Responds to all patient complaints per Lincare policy and procedure
*Responsible for growth of the patient base through excellence in customer service
*Responsible for the profitability of the center and for implementing and directing cost controls
*Responsible for assuring the accuracy of public information materials
*Responsible for maintaining a fleet of leased vehicles including establishing a routine preventive maintenance program and follow up of major maintenance. Record keeping and inspections of vehicles is a critical part of the responsibility
*May required performing on-call duties on a rotational basis with other employees in the center
*Oversees Quality Assurance Program for home infusion and will monitor the centers overall performance improvement activities, as applicable.
*Works with appropriate Lincare Corporate departments in obtaining required licensing, leasing and permits for building and for obtaining required permits and quotes from approved vendors when necessary
QUALIFICATIONS- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE- Graduate of an accredited registered nurse education program located in the United States and in the state where employment will commence, or is licensed in another state that has compact reciprocity or is a graduate of a foreign nurse education program that is approved by the State Board of Nursing and has met all state and federal regulatory requirements for registered nurse licensure.1 year of experience in infusion nursing or comparable experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and response to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Maintains all certificates, licenses, registrations, and continuing education credits as required by all state and federal regulatory institutions. Maintain a current insurable driver's license
