JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition: Telephone Sale Representative - Outbound
Location: Millsboro, DE
Hours: Variable schedule between Mon - Thurs 9am - 8pm and Fri and Sat 9am - 3pm.
Training: Full-time: Mon Fri 8:30am to 5:00pm.
Sells a range of Retail Banking deposit and credit products and services to new and existing customers through outbound calls. Participates in inbound/outbound sales campaigns as needed to attract new and expand existing customer relationships. Must adhere to the requirements of Federal registration under the SAFE Act.
Identify customers financial needs through need based questions and present all appropriate options using knowledge of products to ensure the right product is sold.
Seek opportunities to bundle products and services to customers to expand relationships with them. Ask for the sale and take application or send referral depending on product type.
Regularly review sales reports and associates systems for outstanding questions or documentation needed to process the application.
Provide basic information on Business Banking products and refers the sale to the appropriate department. Maintain a professional manner to build customer confidence and trust.
Sends customer referrals to or sets-up customer appointments with the appropriate area as needed based on product and/or campaign.
Supports various pilot initiatives while applying appropriate strategies to retain customer accounts and expand customer relationships.
Communicates with customers and relevant departments to gather information and documentation as well as providing an application status update for the customer.
Ensure sales activities meet individual sales goals, including customer retention, acquisition and growth goals and participate in sales promotions, to help achieve overall departmental goals.
Take ownership of account servicing and error resolution including resolving routine customer concerns and referring more complex issues to specialist or supervisor. Follow-up on these issues as required to ensure timely and accurate resolution and cover servicing situations to sales/referral opportunities.
Demonstrate teamwork by proactively assisting other colleagues or other Telephone Banking departments when needed and by actively participating in and contributing during team meetings.
Understand and adhere to the Banks risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Banks Risk appetite.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining registration requirements under the Federal SAFE Act.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Associates Degree or in lieu of a degree, 2 years equivalent work experience
Minimum 2 years customer service experience
Ability to navigate through the internet
Proficiency with personal computers
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel
Self-motivated, well organized individual
Ability to be concise and to the point in explanation to customers
Ideal Qualifications Preferred:
One to three years sales experience
Strong telephone sales ability
