This is a mid-level position. Working under general supervision, inspects production parts.

Inspect parts, assemblies and material to ensure compliance to drawing, or customer directed specifications.
Use of mechanical inspection tools and gages (Measurement and Test Equipment) as necessary, for specific inspection operations.

Use and interpret the Material Resource Planning (MRP) system.
Report non-conformance, using the Non-conforming Material Reporting system.
Assist Quality Management, as directed.
Inspect manufactured products, purchased samples, materials and parts, control samples, processes, or test data for conformity to blueprints, specifications and standards.
Identify product items as accepted or rejected.
Report inspection results and substandard conditions on appropriate forms or computer.
Inspect production machine and process setups when applicable using first production pieces, setup pieces, shift samples, etc. according to checklists, blueprints, routings and standards.
Inform lead/supervision of abnormal situations.
Adheres to all Goodrich rules and codes of conduct.
Performs other duties as required and available for overtime.
Trains other lower level inspectors, in inspecting production parts.
High School Diploma, or equivalent

* Minimum of three years relevant job experience or, one year as an Inspector I at Goodrich.
* Ability to read drawings and specifications.
* Have knowledge of marking requirements, and be able to use part making tools and resources to ensure part/assembly traceability.
* Must have good comprehension of English, and the ability to interpret written instructions.
* Must be able to read blueprints.
* Must be able to use calipers, micrometers, and other hand tools.
* Must have 20/20 or corrected vision.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
