We are seeking an Institution Cook to join our dedicated kitchen staff! You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in our professional kitchen. Responsibilities:Prepare all served food items, ensuring high quality, proper quantity and presentation while retaining the maximum amount of desired nutrients. Meet special dietary requests, including vegetarian and low-calorie meals while adhering to weekly USDA menu requirements.Provide excellent customer service to our customers to include but not limited to clients/residents/guests, donors, volunteers, vendors and staff.Adhere to all Federal, State and local Food Service regulations, health codes and standards to include but not limited to USDA and City of Houston.Clean kitchen areas and equipment per procedures and guidelines, maintain a neat and organized storage system for paper products, food, janitorial supplies and all items relating to Food Service area.Comply with sanitation practices and established cleaning schedules, stock rotation, refrigeration temperature control points and other sanitary controls.Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Qualifications:Previous experience in cooking, culinary arts, or other related fields, Food Certification Certificate is a plus.Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniquesStrong attention to detailAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work well in teams
