As a member of the Leadership and Professional Development Team the Sr. Instructional Design Specialist is responsible for supporting Ford Motor Companys leadership learning strategies by developing training programs for employees, supervisors and business leaders. Under moderate supervision, this role requires researching, designing, and developing learning solution projects that are suitable for an extremely diverse global audience. Duties include: Leading design session with Subject Matter Experts in uncovering needs and content for learning material creation Stating instructional end goals and create content that matches them Visualizing instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product Conducting instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts Applying tested instructional design theories, practice and methods Providing exercises and activities that enhance the learning process Creating supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.) Deciding on the criteria used to judge learners performance and develop assessment instruments Maintaining project documentation and course folders Communicating with program sponsors and L&D staff providing input and/or managing the development process Collaborating with Learning & Development operations to understand systems capabilities and the impact on design and ongoing implementation support requirements Evaluating training processes, resources and programs to ensure maximum effectiveness Leading the development of new learning architectures and associated learning collateral Incorporating industry best practices related to instructional design, adult learning theory, and technology trends when designing strategies and developing associated learning programs Providing leadership and guidance to less experienced instructional designers Balancing and prioritizing multiple demands from various stakeholders.
Minimum of 5 years of instructional design experience. Proven Instructional Systems design expertise in classroom, mobile and web based learning solutions Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models Understanding of ADDIE, rapid prototyping methods (or prior use of System Life Cycle or Project Management Life Cycle methodology) Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts Visual design skills ( Photoshop, Illustrator and other Adobe products), ability to storyboard, and experience with eLearning development tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate, and/or Camtasia Experience creating & editing voiceovers using Captivate, Camtasia, Yammer/JIVE, Audacity or similar tools Demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office suite 2010 or later including Word, Excel, Outlook. PowerPoint and SharePoint 5+ years of proven working experience in instructional design Bachelors degree in instructional design, educational technology, creative/graphic design or similar proven work experience
Solid knowledge of course development software and the SABA Learning Management System (LMS), LCMS tools such as Xyleme, Experience working in a global learning environme
Advanced degree in instructional design, educational technology, creative/graphic design or advanced proven work experience
