TITLE

Intern, Information Services - Multiple Summer 2017 Opportunities



LOCATION

Orrville, OH (Greater Akron area)

DESCRIPTION

As an Information Services Intern, individuals will have an exciting opportunity to apply, gain, and grow through hands on experience in any one of our four primary areas:



Solution Development: Interns may participate in the design, development, and support of application programs for business processes.

* Develop understanding of Application, Information and Technology architecture development and how it supports and provides value to the IS organization

* Develop, maintain, and enhance new and existing applications through programming or configuration

* Create technical specifications, operating procedures and other supporting documentation

* Test applications, reports, and system configurations

* Provide applications support including troubleshooting and research

* Partner with the IS user community

* Learn about tools and activities that support an efficient IS organization, including: Quality Center, Service Manager, SubVersion and Project & Portfolio Management

Infrastructure & Support Services: Interns may assist the Help Desk staff in procuring, receiving, storing, installing, testing and shipping of peripheral computer equipment, software and supplies. The candidate will also have the ability to work with the Infrastructure group utilizing various operating systems (Windows/Unix/Linux), networking and mobile platforms.

* Work with physical and virtual servers throughout their lifecycle

* Installation and setup of equipment in Corporate Data Center

* Maintain Infrastructure related documentation

* Conduct system monitoring on Enterprise equipment

* Test and support Enterprise mobile applications and Mobile Device Management systems

* Perform desktop/laptop imaging and specialty application testing

* Provide accurate record keeping and documentation of computing assets and procedures

* Upgrade, repair, and maintain hardware and software

* Test and perform hardware and software installations for end-user devices

* Support PC network connectivity

* Provide support of telephone system

* Provide run-model support of mobile devices throughout company

Business Process Development/ Program Management Office (PMO): Interns may have the opportunity to collaborate with various structured business units to organize and analyze data.

* Work with the IS team and Business Partners to understand and document current business processes

* Participate in ongoing IS projects and initiatives

* Learn and apply methodologies regarding business process modeling, project management, and people change management

* Assist in creation of business requirements, functional designs, test plans, and test scripts

* Assist in the execution of systems testing

IS Governance: Architecture, Risk Management and Standards: Interns will work within this shared services organization, partnering with project teams to deliver business capabilities, manage risk and provide guidelines and support on the appropriate usage of IS tools and technologies.

* Develop understanding of Application, Information and Technology architecture development and how it supports and provides value to the IS organization

* Experience how to effectively manage IS risk in today's complex environment, including participating in threat & vulnerability management, identity management and IS controls & compliance activities.

* Provide support for IS tools and technologies

* Create technical specifications, operating procedures and other supporting documentation

* Participate in ongoing IS projects and initiatives

* Partner with the user community

* Participation in IS communities of practice

* Learn about tools and activities that support an efficient IS organization, including Quality Center, Service Manager, SubVersion and Project & Portfolio Management





SELECTION CRITERIA

Education

* Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a Bachelor s degree

* Majors: CIS, MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or others related to the IT field

* Knowledge of common software packages

* Minimum 3.0 GPA

Other

* Organized, detail-oriented, and willingness to learn

* Strong communication skills and teamwork skills

* Basic application development using a current programming language preferred for developer internship opportunities

* Leadership and facilitation experience is a plus
