The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA/LPTA), under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist, performs therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. The PTA/LPTA functions in accordance with their State Practice Act.
Graduate of an APTA approved Physical Therapy Assistant program
PTA license to practice in the state or board eligible
Competency in applying the principles, methods, materials and equipment necessary in providing physical therapy.
Must demonstrate competency in identified areas of specialization, including training for age specific groups; competency in applying the principles, methods, materials and equipment necessary in providing physical therapy.
