Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists within RTI's Survey Research Division for a Master s level International Survey Researcher. The successful candidate for this position will be able to devote up to 30%-50% time to traveling internationally for quantitative and qualitative research projects. Travel to low/middle income countries will be required. Foreign language skills in one or two the following: French, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, Cantonese, Thai or Hindi required, at a minimum professional proficiency or higher is preferred.


The primary duties and responsibilities will include:

* Training fieldwork staff and overseeing survey fieldwork in-country

* Helping design data collection procedures for large-scale international surveys

* Designing and conducting in-depth interviews and focus groups

* Analyzing survey data and preparing reports

* Travelling 30%- 50% of time to low/middle income countries to carry out project related activities


* Master s degree and a minimum of 1 year of related experience preferred

* Experience traveling and working in international, diverse cultural settings

* Ability to travel independently for several weeks at a time

* Excellent verbal and written communications skills

* Experience in survey and/or qualitative data collection preferred

* Foreign language proficiency strongly preferred

* Experience with statistical software (SPSS, Stata, SAS) strongly preferred

*This position will be located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina
