JOB DESCRIPTION

Our R&D team is looking for a 2017 summer intern who is passionate about testing, measurement, and chemical characterization. If you enjoy working in a lab, learning from teams, developing test methods and supporting projects, this may be the position for you! Due to the ever-changing nature of our department, specific project details will not be known until closer to the intern's start date.

RESPONSIBILITIES*Take an active part in the evaluation of new technology or a novel application of technology in support of materials or product characterization projects*Assist Senior Engineers/Chemists on technical service initiatives with sampling, analysis, and recommendations*Develop and integrate product and process documentation ensuring consistency and accuracy*Provide project status and laboratory reports as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Pursuing a bachelor's degree Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.* Completed sophomore, junior or senior year of undergraduate course work and enrolled in classes for Fall 2017.* Completed coursework in analytical chemistry or hands on lab experience.* Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* Junior or Senior* Coursework in Quantitative Analysis or Instrumental Analysis.* Experience with microstructural analysis, separations, chromatography, molecular or elemental spectroscopy* Strong organizational, computer and communication skill* Willingness to learn new tools* Able to meet commitments and deadlines.* Enjoys working in a high paced team environment* Committed and passionate for results* Must have excellent writing skills* GPA of at least 3.0 at an accredited college or university

This position reports to the Research Manager and will be given a mentor.
