Johns Manville is currently looking for a 2017 summer intern to work with our R&D department. We are looking for self-starters who have the desire to jump in and help JM perform at a higher level. Over the course of the summer, you will be responsible for a specific set of projects designed to challenge you and add value to JM. Due to the ever-changing nature of our department, project details will not be known until closer to the intern's start date; however the intern can be expected to:

*Prepare and test samples *Prepare formulations for pilot testing*Execute multiple projects in a short timeline *Complete mechanical testing and redesign of test methods *Provide weekly updates to management

Interns will be assigned a mentor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering* Completed junior or senior year of undergraduate course work and enrolled in classes for Fall 2017* Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)* Ability to lift up to 25lbs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* GPA of at least 3.0 at an accredited college or university* Experience using Minitab or statistical analysis tools* General chemistry analytical or organic chemistry coursework* Strong organizational, computer and communication skills * Willingness to learn new tools* Able to meet commitments and deadlines* Enjoys working in a high paced team environment* Committed and passionate for results* Able to communicate effectively with team members and management* Must have excellent writing skills
