One to two years of experience in a healthcare setting as a medical interpreter. Must pass the Signature Healthcare Interpreter Services departments interpreter testing process, both in its written and oral format. Satisfactory fluency in English and Spanish at a level that ensures accurate and understandable interpretation. Formal medical interpreting training required, either as a 40 hours minimum medical interpreting course, or associates degree in translation and/or interpretation. Satisfactory knowledge of medical terminology. Strong cultural awareness competencies and familiarity with diversity of cultural/socio-economic backgrounds. Strong translation skills and understanding of translation process.* Per Diem No Set Hours
