POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinates and oversees the physical inventory and system reconciliation of Finished Goods across the distribution network. Inventories parts, analyzes errors, and makes corrections, changes, and recommendations for improvement, ensures integrity of data collected and reported.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Trains and implements processes and procedures directly and indirectly involved with inventory management, specifically in the stockroom.

* Ensures daily transaction journals for stockroom and finished goods are reviewed and audited, identifying problems, reversing incorrect transactions and solving any discrepancies as they arise, assists in the review of the monthly transaction journals and correction of problems as appropriate.

* Reconciles the daily (Open orders with issues) report, researching the reasons for discrepancies and resolving any problems found.

* Lead the cycle count reconciliation meeting while holding peers accountable.

* Able to read the Baan transactions and lead/guide people to identify the right root cause for discrepancies.

* Validates the integrity of counts received from peers.

* Communicates with other department personnel to resolve inventory, transactional and process flow problems.

* Investigates pulling, receiving, and shipping errors and reconciles errors.

* Inputs inventory changes and investigates/analyzes errors in inventory accuracy, reports systematic shortcomings and makes recommendations to improve accuracy.

* Generates computer reports required to perform daily cycle counts.

* Performs cycle counts and other line item counts, as required, ensures full compliance with strict inventory accuracy and policies are maintained.

* Assist in the administration of the periodic inventory audits of the stockroom.

* Evaluates ABC analysis quarterly.

* Performs bin location maintenance twice weekly.

* Records, files and maintains counts, compiles related reports and paperwork as required.

* Evaluates criteria used for semi-annual counts.

* Serves as primary point of contact for all inventory issues.

* Receives and puts away product in accordance with inventory accuracy control processes and procedures.

* Operates forklift, electric pallet jack and other material handling equipment.

* Adheres to health, fire and safety regulations, identifies potential safety hazards and reports such to the Vice President of Human Resources.

* Upholds Pelcos Commitment to Excellence standards at all times.

* Performs related duties as assigned.

* In-depth knowledge of BAAN.

* Knowledge of the fundamentals of Materials Management.

* Knowledge of principles of inventory control processes, procedures and practices.

* Ability to analyze and identify problem and define the best solutions.

* Ability to organize and review massive amounts of data and produce management reports from this data.

* Knowledge of mathematics.

* Knowledge of and ability to maintain safe work practices in warehouse conditions.

* Ability to identify problems, define the best solution, and implement solutions.

* Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

* Ability to effectively train and direct the work of others.

* Ability to operate a computer terminal, including a working knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, or equivalent.

* Ability to perform clerical tasks, including filing and generating computer reports.

* Ability to work in a drug-free environment and pass a pre-employment drug test.


DESIRABLE:

* Five years experience in Stockroom, Receiving, Inventory Control or equivalent including two years at the supervisory or management level.

* Formal course work or specialized training in Inventory Control.

* APICS, CPIM and/or CIRM certification.
