Job Description
The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the warehouse inventory through various inventory control services and operational services.
• Cycle Counting and Inventory Control
o Cycle Count all inventory items daily
o Submit daily cycle counts to Planning Analysts and the Inventory Manager
o Investigate and provide feedback on high or low usage items
o Systematically receive inbound materials
o Plan for increases or decreases in volume with the Operations team
o Perform various weekly inventory audits on inventoried materials
o Investigate inventory discrepancies with the Inventory Manager
• Operations Support Coordination
o Unload and verify inbound material shipments
o Perform quality acceptance checks on inbound material
o Coordinate with the Operations department to facilitate accurate racking and placement of product.
o Down stack, stage and provide housekeeping of managed materials for Operations
o Work with Planning Analysts and Operations department on project management involving transitions, new product development and special inventory projects
o Instruct Planning Analyst team on needs and requests from Operations department
o Coordinate with Shipping and Planning Analyst associates on timely delivery of product
o Follow and complete a task checklist on a daily basis
• Required Skills
o Present a professional image in both appearance and communication skills
o Dress professional casual with slacks and button collar shirt
o Have experience in a warehouse environment
o Must pass the forklift safety and instruction course
o 1 - 2 hours of daily data entry and paper processing
o Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Word
o Basic understanding of warehouse inventory processes
o Attention to detail is critical!
• On-Call and Work Hour Requirements
o Work and fulfill duties with little or no supervision
o Will report to both the Operations Manager and Inventory Manager
o Standard work hours will be 10am thru 7pm
o Will be required to attend once-a-month Inventory Audits (usually held on a weekend night)
o Will be on-call outside of normal business hours in case of any emergency requests by the Operations department
• Position Details
o Starting Salary begins at $12.00 per hour
o 5 days of vacation and 5 days of PTO earned after the first year of employment
