Job Description

Alere San Diego is currently searching for a full time or contract JDE CNC Administrator. Working within the ERP team, the job holder is responsible for assigned projects and tasks primarily within the System Administration and Integration Areas of ERP. The key responsibility is to ensure the continuity of delivery of ERP systems in accordance with service levels agreed upon with Alere's businesses. They are responsible for building and managing interfaces to other systems (ERP and non-ERP) for example, EDI, fax, Citrix and Cast Iron systems.

The job holder will collaborate with both members of the business systems team and users to understand their business requirements and agree to the details of the technical requirements to be provided. There are responsible for delivering working solutions and supporting them during and after implementation.
The job holder's responsibilities include working across all areas of Alere's Global IT systems.

Specific Responsibilities:

- Using the ERP and network monitoring tools, regularly monitor Alere's ERP systems and associated integrated systems to identify any problem situations and ensure that systems availability to Alere's business is maximized and is in accordance with agreed upon business SLA's.
- Ensure the security and integrity of Alere's data by verifying that regular backups are taken. Document and test the Disaster Recovery plan to ensure that in the event of a systems failure the appropriate systems can be rebuilt within the appropriate SLA timeframes and with minimal loss of business data.
- Ensure the security of Alere's systems through the management and monitoring of user authorizations, user accounts and system passwords.
- Define and provide metrics to monitor ERP systems and database performance.
- In partnership with other members of Alere's IS team and / or third-party support organizations, identify system inefficiencies and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
- Install new software, system upgrades, and make system configuration changes to optimize performance and maximize systems availability. These changes are done at agreed upon times that minimize business disruption.
- Confer with personnel of organizational units to analyze current operational procedures and identify problems. Ensure that cross-functional requirement specifications are compatible with overall business needs and that they can be integrated.
- Determine technical requirements with users and project team members that meet the needs of developments within the business transactional systems.
- Work with appropriate Technical Support personnel on the approach and resources necessary to fulfill the requirements.
- Consult with hardware suppliers, software suppliers, and third-party support organizations when deciding how functional requirements can be met in detail and the timeframe for delivery.
- Ensure that requirement specifications include relevant control mechanisms necessary to conform to audit and legislative requirements.
- Verify that all systems selected or developed comply with corporate Information Security policies.
- Write detailed implementation plans in conjunction with Project managers, users, and Global IT team members. Ensure that these plans are in accordance with the overall business project plans.
- Perform regular monthly and quarterly maintenance on ERP and related servers.
- Ensure availability of adequate system documentation.
- Be aware of Alere's ERP and network infrastructure and hardware platforms.
- Monitor technical and business developments for relevant new opportunities.
- Recommend new processes and tools to meet projected needs.
- Provide support for systems and applications during and after implementation including the resolution of all problems associated with their successful operation.
- Provide out of hours support for business critical systems with other members of the Global IT team.
- Various other duties as assigned.

- Six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience managing computer business systems and applications.
- Five years experience implementing and managing JD Edwards OneWorld.
- Five years experience with SQL.
- Experience with SQL Server Administration and Linux is strongly preferred
