JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are recruiting for a full time Junior Staff Accountant in Spartanburg, SC. Our client has over 15 years of experience within the manufacturing and production environment. This position will collaborate with the Controller and other accounting team members on best practices, problem solving and will take part in the core accounting functions of the company.
You will have the ability to motivate, thrive in a team based environment, be a strong communicator with a commitment to excellence and have the ability to take ownership for tasks and use creativity to resolve problems.
?Processes accounts receivable, both scheduled and as needed, and create invoices for clients.
?Assists in preparing accounts payable payments according to company procedures.
?Enters manual checks from clients as required for bank reconciliation.
?Creates weekly check runs and prepares the client?s vendor checks for mailing;
?Provides monthly statements for all unpaid accounts receivables to the Controller.
?Processes cash management entries (daily deposits) based on client-generated spreadsheet, which has been reviewed/approved by Controller.
?Prepares all accounts payable reports including aging, payment registers, and cash requirements.
?Maintains a current, IRS Form W-9 file for team?s clients? vendors.
?Processes IRS Form 1099 at calendar year end and provides them to the Controller for approval.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
?Associate?s degree required, bachelor?s degree is preferred in accounting or finance.
?One to three years related experience and/or training in general accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
?Ability to work in a team based environment
