Exciting opportunity with a full-service CPA firm located in Carmel Valley/Del Mar!
We are seeking a Junior Accountant for our client accounting and tax service departments. The Junior Accountant will be an integral member to the firm, working closely with both internal staff and management, as well as clients and service providers to meet core business objectives.
Job Requirements: The position of Junior Accountant requires a full time commitment, This position requires 40 hours a week. In addition, the candidate must have related experience and an educational background that is related to the job qualifications and responsibilities listed below.
Job Qualifications and Responsibilities: The ability to multitask, exercise discretion and judgment and perform under pressure. The Candidate will participate in month end close process utilizing QuickBooks including: bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, expense accruals, fixed asset reporting. The candidate is responsible for check writing and accounts payable functions. She/he is responsible for invoicing, cash receipts posting, collections and other accounts receivable functions. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for the facilitation and preparation of balance sheets, schedules and other financial documents.
There will be frequent communications with clients at all levels. The Junior Accountant must also prepare month-end journal entries and GL account reconciliations. She/he will be responsible for coordinating with off-site accounting clients to complete month-end processes timely. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for meeting budgeted time requirements on a per client basis as well as client payroll processing. Timely and accurate submission of internal weekly time sheets for billing Ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Highly Preferred Educational Background: Bachelor?s degree or higher in Accounting from an accredited university Preferred Experiential Background: 2-5 years related work experience (skills test will be administered as part of candidacy process) Knowledge of QuickBooks Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with payroll processing Strong understanding of accounting, analytical and problem solving skills. A Proactive attitude with ability to problem solve is highly valued. Being a team player mentality and being highly organized with strong attention to detail as well, are highly valued. A valid state driver's license and the ability to pass a background check, including DMV and credit.
