JOB DESCRIPTIONWork under immediate supervision of Project Manager. Assess the client’s needs, opportunities, and constraints.Develop a plan for the project.Prepare schematic design documents.
Apply historic preservation principles.Assess environmental, social, and economic conditions related to project.Develop design concepts, including site design.Prepare presentation materials including models, renderings and drawings.Analyze and design basic structural elements and systems.Coordinate building systems and reconcile systems’ conflicts.Perform code analyses including building, energy and accessibility.
Prepare design development documents.Investigate and select building systems and materials.Prepare and coordinate construction documents.Research, select, and specify materials.Conduct or participate in bidding/negotiating phase.
Process shop drawings and submittals.Prepare and administer construction documentation.Record changes to the contract documents.Conduct on-site observations.Apply sustainable design principles.Utilize AutoCAD, SketchUp, Vray and Adobe Photoshop to design and draft architectural drawings, build study models, and draw & compose presentation boards.Must present work product verbally and in writing.Design and drafting using computer-aided design (CAD).Engage in organizational management, project management and planning on multiple projects.Perform all duties individually and as part of a team of other professionals. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and 2 years of experience in job offered or 2 years of experience as a Architectural Assistant or any other job title performing all listed job duties. Experience must include work on LEED certified project and educational building project. Experience can be pre or post degree. Must have National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) Record and have completed the required hours for NCARB and fulfilled requirement of Intern Development Program (IDP).
