Job Summary

As a member of Pentair s General Accounting team located in Corporate Office in Cary, NC; this position is accountable for overseeing and maintaining the general ledger of Pentair Water Quality Systems, Inc. The primary role for this position will include recording payroll activity and reconciling related balance sheet accounts. Secondary responsibilities would potentially include other account reconciliations and analysis including capital expenditure requests related to fixed assets. This position has been added to our Accounting team as an additional resource to continue to support our shared service G&A (general and administrative) Group.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Generating ledger entries related to payroll activity on a weekly basis and reconciling related balance sheet reserve requirements.
Analyze and forecast fringe related reserve requirements including vacation, tax and benefits.
Analyze and accrue for incentive programs.
Present to leadership major reserve requirements and make recommendations for changes where applicable.
Ensures accurate and timely reporting of financial transactions to the general ledger.
Performs month-end account reconciliations with accuracy and on a timely basis.
Provides proactive analysis and support to the finance team.
Ensures that relevant internal control requirements are met and comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Ensures that the company meets or exceed Federal, State, and Local governmental laws, ordinances, and regulations in all areas of responsibility.



Job Requirements & Skills


Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, internship experience a plus.
Prior payroll related accounting experience a plus.
Manufacturing experience is a plus
Ability to solve practical problems and implement solutions.
Advanced Excel capabilities a plus.
Able to contribute as a team player in a respectful and professional environment.
Ability to communicate and present information to leadership and respond to questions in a clear and effective manner.
QAD and/or JDE experience a plus.
