Role: SmartSource is in need of a Jr. Support Technicians for a 4 month opportunity located in and around Charlotte NC. Person must also be willing to travel to Winston Salem NC as well. The people will be required to have reliable transportation as they will be working at sites for full days in and around Charlotte (In and around 25 miles radius of downtown Charlotte) Will also need to go Winston Salem when required. The people will be under the supervision of a Lead technician. We do not need people with 5+ years of background. 1-2 years is sufficient.
Background Check Requirements: Everyone who registers will get their own profile that will consist of their information. They like everyone else will be asked to read and acknowledge Policies and Procedures. They will be asked to provide: A Badge Picture Criminal Background Check National Sex Offender Registry Check Drug Screen Letter from their company along with a Letter of Competency of Training MMR and Chickenpox vaccination records

Description: The technicians will complete the following tasks: Arrive at the location and introduce themselves to the site contact. Complete a site walk through identifying the storage area for the printers and the location of the printers to be replaced. Un-package new printers and dispose of the packaging. Move the new printers to the deployment location using carts supplied by the customer. Large MFP printers will be rolled to the location on their own wheels. Uninstall 1-4 Ricoh printers. Install the HP printer. (We will only be installing sites with three or more new HP printers) Complete printer configurations according to a documented process. Record the IP address assigned to the printer. Send an email from their smart phone to the customer IT listing the IP address of the printer. They will have access to guest wireless in the facilities. Return the uninstalled printers to the storage area. Red stickered printers will be disposed of and green stickered printers will be set aside for reuse by our customer. OPTIONAL SERVICE: Assist end users in completing test prints from Windows and from major applications. Gain signature from the onsite Technician on the Site Activity form. Fax the signed activity form to our customer Project Support and to the PM using one of the new MFP printers installed.


Expectations: The Desktop Deployment Technician will review the install guide and print out all required documentation for the site before arriving at the designated location. Upon arrival at the location the Desktop Deployment Technician will check in using the procedures outlined in the install guide. The Desktop Deployment Technician will introduce themselves to the Point of Contact and ask where to find the old and new units. The Desktop Deployment Technician will inspect the equipment to ensure the systems arrived undamaged. The Desktop Deployment Technician will unbox and stage the units. The Desktop Deployment Technician will move trash and dunnage to a designated area. The Desktop Deployment Technician will follow the supplied install guide; back up the old units, deploy new units, and then restore the user’s data. The Desktop Deployment Technician will handle the old systems as described in the install guide. The Desktop Deployment Technician will escalate per instructions if there are any questions or issues. The Desktop Deployment Technician will fill out the required documentation and fax to the supplied number before calling for release from site.


Qualifications: Must pass a drug and criminal background check before starting 1-2+ years professional background CompTIA A+ certification
