i3 is seeking a Junior System Administrator specializing in designing, testing, implementing, and supporting secure operating systems, networks, and applications in a mixed environment of Linux and Windows systems. The position requires the implementation and support of systems with a focus on DoD Information Assurance policy to include application of STIGs and compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls. This Junior System Administrator will work as part of a team.
A successful candidate will:
Be responsible for loading and supporting required system software including: respective office software, additional products in the Microsoft and Linux suite of software, test applications and GOTS (Government Off The Shelf) and COTS (Commercial Off the Shelf) Software.
Support, troubleshoot and resolve software/hardware conflicts/problems on these platforms: Microsoft Server 2012, Microsoft Server 2008 r2, Windows 7, RedHat Enterprise Linux, and CentOS workstations, configuration and installation of related peripherals.
Coordinate efforts with Information Assurance personnel to resolve Incident Requests and Configuration Change Requests.
Be able to quickly adapt to new situations, have a strong commitment to a team environment, maintain a capacity to work with supervision, and demonstrate the willingness to learn new technologies.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information systems or related technical field and two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems and related networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) required. Six (6) years of experience may be substituted for the degree.
Must have strong troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication skills also required.
Must meet DoD 8570.01 requirements.
Must have an active DoD Secret Security clearance.
Candidate must have the ability to lift 50 lbs.
Must have knowledge in terminating Ethernet cables and/or fiber cables.
Must have experience with inventory tracking systems and barcodes.
Must possess the capacity to work unsupervised if needed and have an ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with co-workers as well as management.
