JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY The LAN / Web Administrator is responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, installing and supporting LAN and Web computer systems. This includes assisting in the design, installation, and maintenance of LAN / Web components, Internet and intranet systems, and network segments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

LAN / WAN Administrative Support:
Plans and coordinates the installation, testing, operations, troubleshooting, planning, design, development, and maintenance of hardware and software systems in support of web and LAN environments and the integration of new systems.
Performs Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities to include the technical and conceptual planning, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, and management common to of small to medium scale information systems.
Performs network backups, recoveries, periodic maintenance and systems testing to include creation and modification of accounts and permissions.
Provides rigorous monitoring, reporting, and the application of functionality, integrity, and information security assurance policies. Ascertains compliance with classification requirements and security management directives for LAN, Internet, intranet, and extranet activities.
Provides systems analysis that includes coordination with functional staff members, stakeholders and end users to accurately determine the requirements of new or existing systems in order to provide technical solutions that support and improve current and future business processes.
Develops and maintains software and hardware database documentation that will provide the organization with a guide for alternate system administrators to perform daily and routine systems administration tasks, backups, optimization, and other duties to maintain continuity of operations.
Information Assurance Support:
Provides information assurance (IA) support to protect the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of systems, data and information resources. IA support includes the testing and implementation of software updates and systems configuration changes to meet all applicable Department of Defense (DoD) information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs), computer task orders (CTOs) bulletins, and technical tips, to include IA acknowledgement and compliance reporting.
Ensures the resolution of hardware/software interface and interoperability problems; manage the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements. Troubleshoots and resolves network, equipment, configuration, interface and protocol issues.
Coordinates with project managers, developers, installers, operations personnel, web developers and customer stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
Bachelor's degree in a field of study such as Computer Science, Network Administration, Computer Networking, Web Development and Administration, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, and a minimum of three (3) years related experience. DoD systems environment experience and experience running variability scans on servers using Retina Network Security Scanner is preferred.
JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Working knowledge of DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and/or Army Certificate of Networthiness (CoN)
Working knowledge of the following tools:
-Server 2008 R2
-Dameware NT Utilities for remote management
-Dell OpenManage Server Administrator software
-Vulnerability Management System (VMS)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
Active Secret security clearance is required
Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), Security +, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is required
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professiona1journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
