JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Emergency Patient Resources and Options (EPRO) Team coordinates care usually from an Emergency Department or Urgent care by transferring a patient to a Group Health contracted hospital or other contracted facility. If appropriate, the nurse may assist with other care options like resources for discharge.
The LPN works under direction of the EPRO MD and assists with determining insurance benefits, determining clinical necessity (with a specific program named Milliman), providing records for emergency departments, and making phone calls to assist with patient transitions. At the direction of the EPRO MD, the LPN may talk with the patient to issue a verbal denial of coverage. Specific training will be provided. All work is done telephonically and by computer. There is no face to face patient contact.
This position works at our Administrative Main Building in Tukwila, WA with hours of 11:30 pm to 7:30 am - working every other weekend. Education
Minimum Education Requirements
Vocational School/Certificate Prog Degree from an accredited program.
Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements
Knowledge of electronic patient charting systems.
Recent ambulatory care experience
Minimum License/Certifications Requirements
At time of hire Current Washington State LPN license. Current Basic Life Support certification.
